» Installations usually take 1 to 3 days, depending on the size of the system and complexity of the job. We will let you know what timeframe your job is likely to take.
» Your installation may have to be rescheduled due to rain or other extreme weather. If this happens you will not be charged any additional fees, and we will schedule you in as soon as possible.
» It is preferred that somebody is home during the installation. However, if this is not possible or you need to leave for part of the install, please let us know and ensure the team can access the switchboard and roof cavity. Our SAA accredited installer will need you to sign some paperwork, show you where everything is located as well as demonstrate the basic functions of the inverter and if applicable, the monitoring app.
» If you would like your inverter connected to the Wi-Fi network for remote monitoring, your internet must be connected and working and we will need your Wi-Fi log in details. The monitor will need to be within 10m of the inverter for reliable connectivity. If not, we can install a Wi-Fi extender at an additional cost.
» Where possible, please let us know ahead of time if there will likely be any issues with parking, access, condition of the roof, or if there will be changes in positioning of the solar inverter, changes to the system design or there is any additional electrical work required.
» Please inform us if there are any pets we have to be mindful of letting out as we will likely need access to the backyard. For their safety it is best to keep pets and children inside whilst the solar installation is taking place.
» Due to Worksafe requirements, your power will need to be turned off while the installers enter your roof cavity.
» Temporary safety equipment will need to be used and depending on the specifics of the job may include harnesses which will be connected to the roof, temporary railings on the edge of the roof or a solar panel lifter which attaches against the roof like a ladder and requires power.
» Although our team will take great care, for tiled roofs it is very likely that some tiles will be broken during a solar installation. We ask that you have at least a few spare tiles available for us to replace these. If you do not have enough, we will silicone any further breakages and move them close to the gutter line. Terracotta tiles are extremely fragile and will result in multiple breakages.
» For older houses that do not have a smart meter, you will have to wait for the installation of a smart meter before you can switch on your solar system. We arrange this for you through your electrical distributor, who will then contact you to arrange a date for the upgrade. There is no charge for a smart meter upgrade in NSW.
» Your SAA accredited electrician and installation team will arrive during the agreed upon time window. You will receive a text message when they are on their way.
» There will be some paperwork to sign related to the installation including signing over the STC’s for us to claim on your behalf. We will also reconfirm the proposed layout and inverter location (on a shaded external wall or in a garage, close to the switchboard).
» If applicable, the switchboard will be upgraded by our licenced electrician.
» The installers will put in place the temporary safety equipment such as harnesses, railing or a solar panel lifter.
» Metal rails will be installed on the roof for the framework and any point of contact will be waterproofed.
» Solar panels will now be attached to the metal rails. If you opted for bird proofing, the mesh will be installed.
» The inverter will be installed, and cabling ran to connect it to the panels on your roof.
» The inverter will be connected to the switchboard and a circuit breaker added.
» Any additional components such as batteries will be installed and/or connected.
» If you have internet connection and you would like to monitor the system on your phone, the system can now be connected to your Wi-Fi.
» The SAA accredited electrician will now test the complete system to ensure everything is running smoothly.
» Your installer will show you the basic functions of the inverter and if the system included a monitoring app, your installer will set it up, give you access to it and show you how to use it.
» Now your system is completed you will need to sign documentation to verify the completion of work and if applicable, a consent form for us to organise with your electrical distributor for you to have a smart meter upgrade.
